"Funky Fuengirola's Beach Tunes in: Audio Aid for Sight-Challenged Swimmers Makes Waves!"

"Fuengirola's Beach Goes Audio-Tech: Making Waves & Guiding Ways for Sight-Challenged Sunbathers!

Imagine this: It's a sunny day at Las Gaviotas beach in Fuengirola, and while many are relying on their sunnies, some are tuning into beachy beats to navigate their way around! That's right, this summer saw Fuengirola's sandy shores take an acoustical approach, making it the go-to spot for those whose eyes might not catch every shimmer of the sea.

Come June, the beach got a tech upgrade, boasting two groovy audio totems and a trio of sound beacons, all part of a master plan to help our visually impaired buddies soak up some sun safely.

And get this: Beach-goers are also given a nifty bracelet. No, it's not just for style; it's the magic key to activating these audio wonders, both on land and amidst the waves, ensuring they're always on the right track.

Mayor Ana Mula is all praises for the system, dubbing it a ‘sound success’. It's a melody in line with the council's master tune of making the town’s public areas and beaches accessible to everyone, irrespective of their mobility. And if you're all about numbers, here's a stat that'll make you groove: over 2,600 folks with mobility or visual challenges have relished these specially-adapted beachy vibes.

Mayor Mula strummed a nostalgic note, reminiscing, “Our mission for accessibility isn't just a recent hit. We've been rocking this gig for years, from urban beats to coastal rhythms. Andalucía saw us taking the lead, and today, with our four Universal Accessibility flags waving high, it's clear we're acing the chart! And that, folks, is how Fuengirola is setting the gold standard in beach tunes and dunes!"
