According to a report by Servihabitat 400,000 homes will be
sold in Spain by the end of 2015, 26% more than the same time last year.
La Caixa Banks property division predicts the number of
house sales in Spain to amount to 460,000 by 2016, representing an increase of
14.5%.
The regions that will register the biggest increase in sales
will be the Canaries, Madrid and the Basque Country, with sales expected to
increase by at least 20%.
The Spanish property market is “registering a gradual
process of normalisation, with an increase in the volume of sales and a
progressive appreciation of house prices,” according to the report.
They also forecast that holiday home apartments with 1-2
bedrooms measuring 50m2 – 65m2 will be on people’s wish list with buyers opting
to purchase a property for sale on the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Canaries or
the Balearics, the Costa Brava is predicted to see a slight increase in buying
activity.
